About Me

I have extensive experience in Social Care and  successfully set up two 6 bedded Residential Children’s Homes in 2007 and 2015 looking after the most vulnerable of young people with behavioural and emotional difficulties both male and female between the ages of 8-18 years of age.​We looked after young people with complex needs and those displaying high risk behaviours such as Self-harm, Suicide, CSE, Gang Crime, Substance Misuse, Absconding, Offending behaviours, Violent behaviours with many of our young people being placed with us from secure settings and other residential homes. ​I have worked with Local Authorities across the country and have been awarded various tenders and contracts including London contract  [32 borough councils], West Sussex, East Sussex, Brighton & Hove, Kent, Hampshire, Portsmouth, Southampton, Bournemouth, Isle of Wight, Milton Keynes, Southend on Sea, Essex, Southwark and many more, all who have placed young people in my specialist provisions over 11 years. ​I was registered with Ofsted as the Registered Provider/Responsible Individual in 2007.  I completed the monthly Regulation 44 inspections  and my report was requested by the Local Authority to use as an example with other providers.

I have in-depth knowledge of the Children’s Homes Regulations and Quality Standards as well as the inspection framework. In my role as Regulation 44 inspector/Director/Responsible Individual for 11 years, we were awarded  ‘Outstanding’ and ‘Good’ Ofsted reports consistently throughout this time. I have also worked directly with Ofsted around the inspection process implementing change to ensure the inspection process is fair for providers. ​I developed both homes into specialist therapeutic provisions for CSE and high risk behaviours which resulted in a waiting list for referrals. After 11 years in my role as Director/Responsible Individual and Regulation 44 Inspector the Residential Children's Homes were taken over by a new provider in February 2018.

 Since 2018 I have been working as a consultant providing consultancy services, Regulation 44 visits  and also work with residential schools as the Independent Listener.
